23 DEC 15 - We bought two honeybelles end of September from you, lovely natured birds.Honey the darker one with the Pom Pom has been Laying for two weeks, and Belle, today, her first one! Honey lays green eggs and Belle blue ones. They are delightful. many thanks. |
13 NOV 15 - hank you for our lovely friendly docile chickens. Amazingly we got two eggs today one small and one medium. We put the 10 bags of woodchps down this morning before letting them out and guess what they decided they preferred the muddy area. Although they have only been with us 24 hours they have settled in well and seem contented with their new home. Thank you again. |
3 OCT 15 - Really enjoyed our visit today, well worth the effort. Our new girls are lovely and seem settled. |
1 OCT 15 - We brought 2 rangers from you about 5 weeks ago, and I just wanted to let you know that they are the friendliest, most well behaved and sweetest hens we have had. We got 2 to keep or remaining ex bat company, there were a few squabbles at first, but nothing to the scale we have had in the past, and after about a week or two, the pecking order was firmly established, and they are now happily roaming around in a little flock. They have been named Magda and a Pearl and have a passion for eating dandelions, which is a good thing as our garden is full of them. They also like to help with the gardening, especially weeding and digging the veggie plot, which they approach with more enthusiasm than skill. What is also good to note is that some of their good manners have rubbed off on Feathers our matriarchal and bossy ex bat. |
23 JULY 15 - I thought that you would like to know that the Wyandottes have settled in really well and were at home in their coop and run straightaway. We spent an hour watching them before we had to go shopping and while we were were away they had put themselves to bed and were happily roosting on the perch Steve had made for them. Thank you again for giving me the chance to buy them. They are beautiful and I love them to bits. |
19 JULY 15 - Just to let you know that two little frizzle bantams I purchased from you last week travelled to Cheshire with absolutely no problems and have settled in well. They are now known as Chrysanthemum and Paeony. |
18 JULY 15 - Not customer feedback, but a lovely recommendation from a fellow poultry supplier: Due to the birth of our daughter we have decided not to supply Hybrid Point of Lay Pullets and we have cut right down on our Pure Breeds, therefore we can highly recommend Newlands Poultry to you as an alternative (I have copied Sarah who owns Newlands Poultry in to this email) as Sarah's chicken are exceptional quality and she has an amazing range to choose from. |
3 JULY 15 - I thought you might be interested to see how the girls have grown! Three of them are laying now, I think just the legbar to go. They are well integrated & adorable. The Campine is like my shadow, she follows me round the garden, cocking her hear to listen to me talking to her & then replies! Very sweet, such a personality, & the most beautiful bright blue eggs too! Thanks so much for all your help. |
2 JUNE 15 - Just to say thanks with you help in selecting our new flock last week . They have settled beautifully , and are enjoying the large outside space we have for them . Whilst , slightly wary of the older girls we haven’t had any major squabbles , they are just dust bathing down in the shade and enjoying life . The children are really impressed and enjoying the fact they can identify them all - Miss Pom Pom , Miss Honey , Thunder , Lightning , Dino, Dotty and Budget. |
21ST MAY 2015 - Thank you for saving those hens for me and absolutely amazing service today. It is a real pleasure to me someone who is so passionate about their hens. The girls are all fine, been sat on the floor with them and 4 very tame already, the little bluebelle especially so she is now called Belle. |
21ST MAY 2015 - I made a telephone order earlier today and I just wanted to say how wonderful you were! The lady with whom I spoke was so helpful, informative and friendly. After placing my order, I also asked for her advice on certain issues I was having with my hens and she was so helpful. Thank you so much, it has been an absolute pleasure to deal with such a lovely company...so refreshing! If there is anyway I can leave positive feedback so as to encourage others to utilise your services, then please don't hesitate to let me know. |
24TH APRIL 2015 - We had another 6 hens from you recently, they are the best ever, so friendly and all laying within a week of arriving in their new home. |
29TH MARCH 2015 - Thank you so much for giving me and Sue so much information last week when we came on your course at 9am. We loved it. It was incredibly helpful, and I am already acting on what you said. I am picking up my chickens and up ending them now, without much of a care in the world! Thanks again Sarah; you made it both fun as well as inspirational. |
19TH FEB 2015 - It was lovely to meet you today and see your lovely chickens. My Maran (Edith, she is French after all) has settled well into her private suite and is eating and drinking nicely. I'm very pleased with her, thanks ever so much. |
15TH JANUARY 2015 - I found your website a couple of weeks ago and just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for all the advice and information. I am only sorry I did not find you guys at the end of December when we started. I took advice from books and websites, all of which are not a patch on yours. You are a long way from us, but my inlaws live near you in Cradley, next time we visit I will call in for some stuff.Your mud management idea is brilliant. May contact you next time we are down to arrange going on your course, will bring mother in law to. |
7TH OCTOBER 2014 - I trust that you are well I just thought that I would let you know that Polly my Bluebell Hen passed away in my arms on the morning of the 11th August at the grand age of 5 years and 6 months. She was my last surviving hen and had become a house hen for over 14 months she was such a beautiful girl and my best friend. I would just like to thank you for looking after my dearly departed girls Beyonce,Sybil, Polly,Speckle and Shirley. You gave such dedicated attention to them all whilst in your care and I always knew that my precious ladies where is safe hands with you. I wish you all the best wishes for your future and I would like to say a heartfelt thank you for all your valued help over the last number of years. |
8TH SEPTEMBER 2014 - Just a quick note to say thank you to both of you for all your help with rearing and gathering together my order of new girls. Here are a few photos of them in their new London home. They all seem to be settling in well and after a couple of nights of putting them to bed, they have got the hang of going into the house and jumping up onto the roosting poles. They are all very inquisitive and several times I have had to safe guard my pearl earrings!! Will see you again soon when they have eaten their way through all the food and keep you updated of their progress. |
22ND JUNE 2014 - I recently bought 2 hybrid chickens from you, a spleckledy and a lilac belle. They have settled in well with our 4 other birds, and the day after bringing them home one laid an egg! Thank you ever so much for the lovely birds and excellent service from a very helpful and knowledgable lady who served me. I shall recommend. |
19TH JUNE 2014 - Mrs Wimpeydimple squeezed this huge egg out today! We are very impressed! We are getting 4 eggs most days from our 4 lovely girls. |
31ST MAY 2014 - I just wanted to drop you a message to say a huge thank you for all your help and advice this morning. We all had such a lovely day and you are obviously an incredibly experienced chicken keeper - we felt a bit like we'd been talking to Yoda! Also wanted to let you know that the girls seem to have settled in nicely, they've been scratching and pecking and generally being chickens. The Fenton girl (we've named her Attila) laid a beautiful pale blue/green egg for us this afternoon so we are very proud chicken parents this evening! I've spent most of the day round the coop, affixing weld mesh and tweaking a few bits of their house. They're brilliant company and I'm sure we're going to get loads of pleasure from chicken watching!! Thanks again, |
22ND MAY 2014 - Just wanted to say thank you for this morning, it was very helpful and I gained lots of useful knowledge. I hope my bombardment of questions wasn't too much but the loss of the red chook last weekend had made me realise there was a lot I didn't know, and I didn't know how to find out. The internet is great, but often is confusing. I really hope your one eyed chook pulls through, they all have little personalities, and I didn't think chook's would be quite so endearing. The farmers round here would laugh at me! We were really impressed with how neat and tidy your premises were, and when I need a holiday, I know where my chook swill be spending there's. Thank you again |
3RD MAY 2014 - Thank you all for your time this morning it was really helpful. Our beauriful chickens are safely in their new home and seem quite relaxed already. I surprised myself managing easily to lift them into the house first, as you recommended, they have been in and out a couple of times without any problems and now happy peckingand scratching at the grass. The ball is in place and we are all watching them and enjoying our bbq. Things could not have gone smoother thank you for all the tips this morning I am sure this is why the everything has gone so well so far. We look forward to our next visit. |
28TH APRI 2014 - just to say thanks for the lovely white sussex & white star we had from you last Wednesday, they are wonderful & the kids absolutely adore them. After a few scuffles out in the garden they are getting on amazingly well with our other three ladies now. You were right about the the white star being close to laying, she laid our first mini white egg on Saturday! |
18TH APRIL 14 - Great to see you again earlier. Just to let you know the violet hen has laid a perfect blue egg! All three are settling in great and are pottering around lovely this afternoon. See you again |
7TH MARCH 2014 - I bought an Aracana and a Fenton just over a week ago, and they both laid eggs the following day. They have settled in very well and continue to lay. They are very tame and come when they are called. I am so pleased with my purchase. Many thanks. |
23RD FEBRUARY 2014 - It was lovely to meet you when my son and I came to choose hens on Friday (21st Feb). I just thought I would let you know how they are getting on. We took home Clara the white araucana, Hayley the exchequer leghorn and Polly the copper maran hybrid. On Saturday Hayley and Clara came out of the house on their own but I had to lift Polly out. I put food away from the feeder for Polly however Hayley reckons that anything anyone else has must be superior and deals with them accordingly. After being second to the Fentons she has asserted herself as top hen here. Clara also gave Polly one small reminder of her place in the pecking order. There have however not been any major fights as yet. Though last night Hayley went to bed first and put herself in the doorway so the others couldn't get in. I lifted Polly into the nest box at the side and lifted Clara past Hayley. Hayley then pushed Clara around the roost ,using her head underneath Clara, until she was satisfied with the sleeping arrangements. I never tire of watching hens and their behaviours. So far no pecking between Clara and Hayley. Best news is that we had one beautiful blue egg on Saturday and one crisp white egg today. Both girls found their way back to the nest box to lay although Clara was frantically pacing the run, eyeing up the possible laying sites in the garden, before resigning herself to the Eglu. Thanks again for your continuing support |
12TH JANUARY 2014 - Didn't really look at my girls closely until we got them home and out - are they the same chickens?.......Amazing!! It's like they have had 3 weeks at a Spa and Health farm! They have all gained weight, bulked out and their plumage was immaculate! A picture of chicken health!!! Thank you so much! Then my second thought was... 'Oh dear I must have been doing something very wrong with them?' Tips welcome... or do you run a course? |
5TH JANUARY 2014 - Hi there......I just wanted to say a big thank you to Sarah for her help and advice on choosing 4 hybrids hens on Saturday morning. They have settled in really well and was astonished on Sunday to have 4 lovely eggs already. Will definitely be recommending your site to my friends who are now jealous of my Girls.... |
16TH SEPTEMBER 2013 - Just a brief line to say a very big thank you for Saturday's teach-in. It was very interesting, highly information and we appreciated it very much. We love how clean and superbly organised your operation is and came away feeling uplifted and enthusiastic. Your passion and care for the birds was very evident. |
10TH SEPTEMBER 2013 - I just wanted to say thank you for all your advice and help in setting up our chickens in school. To say they are popular is an understatement. Our students have thoroughly embraced them and love looking after them - I even have some student volunteers coming in on the weekends. They have settled well and enjoy roaming around. The little ginger 1 - now called Amber must have been a dog in a past life. She follows us around and loves a cuddle. They have started to lay all ready so they must be content. Should you get any enquiries from schools who are thinking of keeping chickens please pass on my e mail address, we would welcome a visit. Once again thank you and don't be surprised if we come back to increase our flock. |
8TH SEPTEMBER 2013 - Just wanted to say thank you very much for your time on Saturday, you have a very lovely place for all your many chickens, all of which looked lovely birds. To let you know also that Martha (Lav Orp) and Marvis (Maran) have settled in very well, they had a fairly long journey back, just over two hours and I popped them straight into the coop with some food and water and kept the run door shut for the first day so they could settle into their coop, I let them out into the run early this morning and they have spent the day getting to know their new surroundings and seemed happy enough. They also seem to be getting along fine together. This evening they were both very good girls and went off to bed into their coop as dusk was coming in with no confusion. I will definitely be back next year to add in a couple more birds, and will probably go for a couple of layers, plus would love a silver Wyandotte if you do manage to source a cock to enable you to breed them. |
6TH SEPTEMBER 2013 - Hope you're well. Many thanks for your help last Saturday. The 3 hens seem happy - we've already had 2 eggs off the brown one! They've had a week to glare at each other through the mesh, so I'll try and introduce them this weekend. Just wanted to say what a great place you have - so nice to see all of your stock very contented in a clean well kept environment. I think Louise is keen to get some call ducks off you soon! |
4TH SEPTEMBER 2013 - I wanted you to know how pleased we are with the Green Frog house that I bought a few weeks ago. Having had bad problems with Red Mite for a long time, despite trying all the "solutions", it is a joy to be able to see into the coop and very easy for cleaning. When we dismantled the old, wooden house we were appalled to find that the Mite had got between the wooden and corrugated roof, very difficult to spray or remove. We had a ceremonial burning of it! Would not hesitate (so far!) to recommend it. |
17TH AUGUST 2013 - Do have to say, that it was such a joy to receive your supplies yesterday. Not only was the delivery guy cheerful, (which is truly an event these days!), but the garvo feed was carefully packaged and trouble had been taken to make sure that everything was correct. I have rescue cats, and and 87 year old Mum that I live with and am used to buying nearly everything online, you would not believe the standard of packaging and delivery that people give nowadays. I do hope your customers appreciate how good yours is. Thanks again and I look forward to purchasing again soon. |
1ST AUGUST 2013 - Thank you so much for keeping our 4 chickens safe and for taking such good care of them whilst we went away on holiday in July. It is lovely to know that we can rely on your excellent service and to know that we don't have to worry about them whenever we have to go away. |
22ND JULY 2013 - My name is Fiona and I'm just starting out with chickens, I would just like to say how helpful your chicken run management information has been, I have referred to it many time whilst setting up my run from scratch. |
8TH JULY 2013 - Just a quick e-mail to thank you very much for a very helpful and informative course on Saturday, both Becky and I really enjoyed it and more importantly learned a lot from you. As soon as we are all set up with the house and run we will come over to buy what we need. |
21ST JUNE 2013 - We picked our new hens up yesterday (2 Burfords, 2 Marans, 1 Marigold & 1 Amber) and they all seem to be settling in fine. We've had no squabbles so far and they seem very placid. Last night I put them straight in the house and when I checked at 8pm they were quiet and settled down for the night. Thank you for all your advice yesterday, we will no doubt be over again soon for medical and cleaning supplies. |
21ST JUNE 2013 - Well, Sarah we're over the moon with the new hens. The leaflet you gave us (even though we've been keeping hens for a few years now, was still very helpful and getting the new hens blended with my remaining hen went better than our previous experience thanks to the leaflet! The ladies are already laying well and after years have had our first double yolker! After a previous NAFF experience at a local poultry place your farm was wonderful... Not over crowded, scrupulously clean (which is amazing given how much hens poo!), you obviously are stringent with keeping boarding hens separate from your own flock, which we had an awful experience of previously will all my brood catching a virus from other hens and costing us a fortune in vets bills and a dead hen :( We're simply chuffed to bits and will definitely been return customers. |
1ST JUNE 2013 - Thank you so much for the chicken course today, it was very informative and when we got home we put some of it into action and we were able to pick up a couple of hens after you showing me how to catch and hold Emoji |
21ST APRIL 2013 - The Pullets we bought from you have been with us for a couple of weeks now and I just thought I would let you know that they are doing very well indeed. They did not know what to make of the grass and flew across it at first, but they have settled down nicely now. The are still quite tame and get on well with the other hens, perhaps because they outnumber them 6 to 3, with only a few occasional squawks. |
3RD JANUARY 2013 - Hi Happy New Year just to thank you for the two lovely chickens we purchased in october along with an omlet ;a blacktail and a bluebell ( Nugget and Nando)they are doing well having a life of freedom and giving us eggs every day! |
30TH DECEMBER 2012 - Just to let you know after separating my girls from the three I bought off you for 4 days they are now all living together happily!!! They have all settled really well and wander around the garden when we are outside and able to keep an eye on them. They have been named Dotty, Alice and Violet and it seems like they have been here for ages. |
